Suzan Bly

Suzan Bly is a successful senior executive with a record of achievement in Finance, Organizational Management, and Systems Development. She is an entrepreneurial thinker and strong team player with a global perspective who has worked across all organizational functions to reengineer and implement process improvements. As a manager, Suzan excelled in mentoring and coaching staff, and in guiding their professional development. As a consultant she brings a depth and breadth of experience, knowledge, expertise, and insight to her work with clients.

During her successful career in finance, Suzan’s accomplishments included creating a Financial Shared Service Center; leading reengineering teams responsible for process improvement, installing integrated business systems; evaluating acquisitions, mergers, and joint ventures; and supervising world-wide financial, operational, and technical audits.

In addition to working throughout the US, Suzan’s global experience took her to Ecuador, the UK, France, Spain, Ireland, Germany, Belgium, Japan, Taiwan, Hong Kong, and China. She has worked in a wide range of industries including oil/gas production and distribution, transportation (shipping, trucking, rail), apparel, consumer products, non-profits, real estate development, government and quasi-government, and in public accounting.

Suzan’s most recent corporate position was as Vice President, Finance at the Services Company of a global manufacturer, where she led a staff of 85 people. She also has experience coordinating the strategic and annual budgeting and forecasting processes, and evaluating global manufacturing, distribution, wholesale and retail operations. In all her undertakings, Suzan was successful in enhancing profitability, improving processes, clarifying accountabilities and working across organizational lines.

Suzan is a Certified Public Accountant in Virginia and North Carolina. She earned the MA degree at the University of North Carolina at Greensboro and is a graduate of the Executive Program, University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. She studied international business at Universidad de las Americas in Mexico City and has BS in Business Administration from West Virginia Wesleyan College.

Suzan is a Trustee of West Virginia Wesleyan College and serves on the Board of Directors of various community, business, and religious institutions. She lives in Greensboro, NC.
